"Oh I want to see Him, look upon His Face
There to sing forever, of His saving Grace
On the streets of glory, let me lift my Voice
Cares all past, home at last, ever to rejoice!"

R. H. Cornelius

Do not weep for long my Christian brothers and Sisters & the Charles Craig family. Bishop Charles Craig has passed from death unto life. To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord.(II Corinthians 5:8)

For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them which sleep in Jesus will God
bring with Him. "Wherefore comfort one another with these words" Weeping may endure
but joy will come. And God shall wipe all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away" ( Psalms 30:5 ; I Thessalonians 4 ; Revelation 7:17 & 21:4)

"And I heard the voice from heaven saying unto me, Write, Blessed are the dead which die
in the Lord from henceforth: Yea, saith the Spirit, that they may rest from their labors; and
their works do follow them" (Revelation 14:13)

Farewell, Bishop Charles Craig, I'll see you again one blessed day and it will be just like a
Hallelujah Sunday up in heaven. I have faith that you're up there just rejoicing in God
our Saviour.

Keep Looking Up,

As the winds of time continue to blow God in His infinite wisdom is still in control. My relationship with this family goes way back to the late 60's. Rev. Charles Ashley Craig, Sr. Remembering the wonderful years working with the Craig Brothers in the Metropolitan Spritual Churches along with the late Thomas Whitfield and in GMWA since 1968 will always be cherished. I can still see that infectious smile displayed by Bishop Craig as he walked the halls of each GMWA convention. My prayers are that God will continue to bless the Legacy of this great family and that the fond memories will remain in our hearts for years to come.

Bishop Craig was a true servant-man of God, a wonderful friend, a spirit filled Pastor, an anointed singer and all around leader in Detroit and national venues. We are praying for the strength of his family and the will of every member at Craig Memorial Tabernacle to go even higher in the Lord. I am blessed to have just walked his way and to have been counted as a colleague. While we will miss his ebullient nature and outstanding camaraderie, we are rejoicing he is now with the Lord in that mansion only He could prepare.

My sincerest condolences to Wanda and the rest of his family at this time of transition and celebration of a life well lived.

To Wanda Craig and family, and to "Bishop" James Craig and family,

The Washtenaw County Chapter, GMWA express our deepest sympathy in the loss of your dear husband, father, brother and pastor. You have our love and our prayers. Bishop Craig's charming smile and engaging character will be greatly missed.

Chapter Representatives

On a more personal note,
I have recently been where you are now. Bishop comfornted me and my family with a word from the Lord. I pray now Wanda, that the peace of God which passeth all understanding will comfort you in this hour. So much of what I know about gospel music was learned at his feet. I will always treasure those times. He is already missed.

The information for the Hawthorn Suites is incorrect. The studios are at a rate of $69 and the penthouses are at a rate of $99. This includes a hot breakfast. When making reservations please ask for Eville Maloney and let her know you are attending the funeral for Bishop passes.

Re: Expressions of Sympathy
SYMPATHY - O- GRAM
For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God and house not made by hands eternal in heavens. We are confident I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body and to be present with the Lord.
II Corinthians
“There is an open gate at the end of the road. And there is a light we cannot see. Our Father claims his own. Beyond the gate, your loved one finds happiness and rest. And there is great comfort in the thought that a loving God knows best.”

Life’s Story Added to Heaven’s Book of Saints on July 05,2008 in the early dawn.
Many people look upon death as a sad occasion but the death of a Christian is a glorious time, for our Lord and Savior, has said so and the Psalmist in Psalm 116:15 says distinctly; “Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints.” For:
“I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day; and not to me only, but unto all them also that love His appearing.”
2 Timothy 4:7-8
There is no night without a dawning, no winter without a spring. For those who leaves us for a little while, have only gone away - out of a restless world to a brighter day.
The mysterious angel of death has visited our ministry and convention family again and taken from our midst a True Warrior.
Mr. Alvin Burks a Gospel Music Workshop of America affiliate as well as his family, do share in your sudden loss. We extend to you, our most heartfelt expression of sympathy. It is our most sincerest prayer that God be with you through your hour of sorrow.
Please remember in your heart during this time Revelations 21:4
“And God shall wipe away all tears from your eyes. And there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain.”

To the entire Craig family, namely 1st Lady (Wanda), Volley, Tiffany, not to forget Lenzy. I first met Bishop Craig in New York City in 1975 for GMWA. Our choirs were housed in the same hotel. Of course I had every album the then Voices of Tabernacle had recorded. I followed he and his brother, not to mention Thomas Whitfield around for the entire week, they were stars to me. I brought them to Houston on several occassions and even Houston fell in love with them. What a tremendous loss we have suffered. He and his entire family, church family and entire Detroit gospel music are true soldiers carrying the word in song. Gonna miss ya guy.

From the Muskegon Westshore Chapter / GMWA

"Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all ye lands. Serve the Lord with gladness;
come before his presence with singing." Psalm 100:1-2

Every time we think of Bishop Charles Ashley Craig III -- and we will think of him often -- we will remember him for the joy, the gladness and the music he shared with us.
He was the compassionate friend and advisor on the other end of the phone as we planned and organized our Chapter. He accompanied Rev. James Cleveland to Muskegon to install the Chapter 20 years ago this month.
Whenever the Michigan chapters embarked on a project, we all looked to Bishop Craig for leadership, and he never failed us.
We want to thank the entire Craig family and the Craig Memorial Tabernacle church family for sharing him with us.
At this trying time, we would like to share with you our prayers, our sympathy and our love. Please know that we will always be here for you just as Bishop Craig was always there for us.
May the grace of God be with you always.

"My Friend, He walks beside me. My Friend, He's there to guide me. My Friend, won't leave me alone. He always tells me I'm His own."

I'm afraid that I never knew Bishop Craig personally. However, I have always enjoyed the music ministry of the Voices of Tabernacle and the Craig Brothers. This is why I am moved, at this time, to pay tribute. I just want to offer thanks and praises unto God for allowing Bishop Craig to pass our way. His music ministry, his pastorate, and his work with the GMWA has touched the lives of many. My prayers will be with Lady Wanda Craig, Bishop James Craig, the entire Craig family, and the Craig Memorial family. Be blessed. (Psalm 91).

Sincerely,
